SUMMARY:Heritage Open Day: Woven with Faith: Methodism and the Making of Witney
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered who Vanner Road is named after? Why Early Road carries its name? Or who built the houses on Burford Road\, the tall chimney\, and the historic buildings on Mill Street? \nDiscover the stories behind the people who helped shape Witney in this fascinating exhibition. Explore the town’s rich blanket-making heritage\, the influential families behind the industry\, and how their Methodist faith inspired acts of enterprise\, philanthropy and social justice\, both locally and around the world. \nAs you uncover these remarkable stories\, you’ll be invited to reflect on the role that faith\, industry and community have played in shaping Witney—and to consider how each of us can contribute to the future of our historic and thriving town. \nOpening Times: \n\nSaturday 12th September: 10:00-16:00\nSunday 13th September: CLOSED\nMonday 14th September: 10:00-16:00\nTuesday 15th September: 10:00-16:00\nWednesday 16th September: 10:00-16:00\nThursday 17th September: 10:00-13:00 & 15:00-16:00 (CLOSED 13:00-15:00)\nFriday 18th September: 10:00-16:00\n\n
