The Witney and District Museum
We are an independent, fully accredited museum (No: 1773) and a registered charity (No: 1203635). Entirely run by volunteers and funded by visitors to the museum we aim to provide an enjoyable and informative experience. When you visit the museum, you will be able to find out about the rich history of the wool trade in Witney and a lot more.
Awarded ‘Heritage organisation of the year 2022.’ by Witney Town Council.

How to find the museum
A short walk from the town centre shops and car parks, we are just off the High Street close to the junction with Witan Way.
Look for the archway inscribed ‘Bartlett Builders’and signed Gloucester Court Mews.
Open April to October only.
Get Involved
Volunteers are the strength of the museum, who involve themselves in a number of activities; welcoming visitors on arrival at reception or group visits from schools. Other tasks include assisting with maintenance and general upkeep of the museum.
